So, its been too long since my last blog post.  Life has carried me away lately, what can I say?  So, we’ll start things back up with a little brain dump.

Yesterday I got to experience (from the sidelines) life’s biggest high and lows.  One of my dearest friends, who lost a baby at 8 months last year, had her “rainbow baby”.  It’s been such a long journey from that day to this one, and I am just giddy with excitement for them to finally have a baby girl in their arms.  On the flip side, I was asked to photograph another little one, born to one of my former wedding clients, who passed a few hours after birth.  The poignancy of yesterday is still with me.  To have one friend come full circle on a journey that another is just starting on the same day – just wow.

I feel like I say this all the time, but Sloane is growing so fast.  She is eating solids now, which has been lots of fun.  And she’s been gabbing at us non-stop – in the car, in the store, and at home.

We took Sloane to her first Brewer’s game a couple of weeks ago.  It was so much fun to introduce her to one of our favorite things.  She loved it.  She looked at everything with such delight, laughed, giggled, and charmed everyone sitting around us.  I see many Brewer games in our future.

My restauranting pal Jamie and I tried out Industri Cafe last week.  It was fantastic!  We went the small plates route and sampled the baked brie, flatbread pizza and meatball trio – yum!

We are just days away from getting a breather in the political arena around here.  I have to admit, I’m looking forward to that.

The peonies in our yard are in bloom and I’ve got a big bunch in our kitchen right now.  So pretty!  I take a compressed air can outside with me so I can blow off the ants before bringing them in.  I’ve heard dunking them in cold water overnight works as well.

Hubby has been busy planning an incredible event for next weekend.  The highlight is a concert by Chasin’ Mason.  I’ll blog more about it later, but check out the website here.

Every post is better with pictures. Some recent iPhone photos of what we’ve been up to (okay, pictures of Sloane and Ringo):
