It’s pretty impossible for me not to see this wedding story thru the eyes of the Mother of the Bride. She is a dear friend, and I’ve been privy to the inside of the planning journey she took with Caroline for over two years. Since she is a wedding planner herself, her daughter’s wedding to Austin was sure to be nothing short of incredible. Spoiler alert, it was!
They searched high and low for a venue that felt like home, that felt special, that captured that sort of special magic that summers at the farmhouse had, that camp at the nature center had. When they visited Stout’s Island, it took seconds to know they had found the spot. Set in the Northwoods of Wisconsin, and only accessible by ferry – this little island is a piece of the Adirondacks of 1930, transported. An elevated summer camp if you will. With all the right vintage charm, and just enough amenities to keep you comfortable. It was here that Caroline and Austin cemented their “I Do”, on the Island of Happy Days. It was here that they filled an island with all whom they loved dearest for an entire weekend – swimming, kayaking, swinging their toes in the water off the dock, hiking, and oh yeah … getting married.
