Beautifully crafted. When I think of Alexis and Kevin’s wedding day, that is the phrase that comes to mind again and again. There are so many reasons. For one, the absolutely stunning day. Sunny, a little breezy and warm, in early May. The setting at the Patrick Haley Mansion was beyond beautiful – completely abloom with spring; blossoms and new buds surrounded them everywhere. It is a mansion that was obviously crafted with care and love for a family, and has been cared for with the same devotion ever since. The details of the day – vintage key place cards, the engagement album guestbook, the speeches, the words of the ceremony: all beautifully crafted. And Alexis and Kevin themselves, their relationship, is something they describe as created carefully and lovingly by them over the years. It is something that you can see in the way they move about each other, the small twist of their fingers together, the tuck of Alexis’ head into Kevin’s shoulder, the way Kevin gently guides her through a room. This is a couple that is building their marriage day by day, moment by moment and stringing them carefully together, crafting something beautiful.
Every inch of the Patrick Haley Mansion is beautiful. Truly, even the later addition of a ballroom was created so wonderfully; white, full of light and accented in all the most lovely ways (including my FAVORITE feature, a carved wood cover for the exit signs!). I couldn’t stop shooting, there were so many lovely nooks and crannies to explore.
