Miscellaneous Monday

Thank you for all of the patience, kind words, congrats and general good-will concerning the new blog.  I really appreciate it!  I hope you are enjoying the new format!

Some people have had trouble getting their readers switched over.  We’ve found that simply typing in the “www.mthreestudioblog.com” address doesn’t always work.  However, searching for “mthreestudioblog” within the reader seems to bring the new one up, and you can click subscribe then.

Last week was a doozy – two weekends and a baby shower (that I was hosting), and it seemed like every possible issue popped up all at once, and each required hours of work.  I’m beat.  No rest for the weary here though.

It’s hard to remember all of the random thoughts I had swimming around in the two weeks the blog was down.  You would think I would have had them written down, waiting for today.  But no, I don’t.

Our little nephew Ethan is growing so much already.  I saw him yesterday and he is already filling out and getting bigger.  And he smiles!  These cute little smirks come up and then when you comment on them they spread right across his face.  So adorable!

Two of my former clients had babies last week.  CONGRATS to Jena & Tom and also to Ellen & Joe!  They are both adorable little ones.

I finally got to talk with my friend Melissa last night.  We had about a month of stored up stories waiting to chat about.  How sad that we are both so busy that we couldn’t find time to chat!  Of course, half of our conversation was about the weddings we have scheduled to shoot together next year.   We had such a blast doing that this summer (see Katie & Chris’ wedding at the Cuneo Mansion for an example) that we are lining up dates to do it again.  If you would like a powerhouse team for your wedding – let me know.  It can be arranged!  So far, it looks like we will be headed to Jekyll Island and Door County together.

I was really dissapointed that Carrie Underwood was shown without her groom on the cover of People Magazine.  I haven’t picked up the issue yet (how I have held back my curiosity about the details, I’m not sure).  But two people got married that day and to only put her on the cover as if it was just about her – ugh, I hate that mentality!

I stumbled across the Transformers 3 set last weekend at the Art Museum.  It was like deja vu from when I lived in LA.  I didn’t see much in driving by, but I can tell you there was a helicopter involved.

Registration for American Idol started today in Milwaukee.  I think this is the first time they have come to our city for auditions.  That should be fun.

Some of you might know that I am a judge for the Wisconsin Association of Fairs.  Usually that means going to a few local county fairs each year and judging 4-H projects with little kids.  This year I’ll be doing that, but I’ll also be judging at State Fair this week!  I’m excited to have been invited to judge at this level – it’s a bit of an honor in the ‘fair judge world’.

On a personal county fair note;  our home county fair starts next week, so we are in full-swing preparations in this house.  Hubby is hard at work on his Demolition Derby car.  My mother and I are co-superintendents for the Open Class Arts & Crafts competition, so we will be hard at work next week with taking in entries, judging, setting up, and also running a new, En Plein Air painting competition.  There is still room in the competition if you would like to participate!

This last weekend was the Racine Triathlon.  Somehow I always manage to need to get into Racine on this day – which is virtually impossible with thousands of people biking and running all over the county.  Hubby even gets to watch them go right past his store all morning.  Our cousin Craig competed this year.  We haven’t heard how he placed, but anyone who can swim 1.2 miles in Lake Michigan, bike 56 miles, and then run 13.1 miles is a winner in my book.

Hubby is trying to convince me that he should get a Harley.  Any votes on this?

Have a great week!
