Miscellaneous Monday
I have to start this week by saying it is so lovely to see the snow falling as a reflection of my window in the computer screen. It is one of the favorite things about my office in winter, and even though it’s too warm to stick today, I’m loving it.

So, technically it did flurry the night of December 1st, continuing our “house anniversary” tradition. But not the heaps we usually get. No snow for Morgan & Joe’s wedding either. Instead we got yucky rain. But, we rocked it out anyway.

Big thanks to my pal, Melissa Schollaert for flying in to assist me with this last wedding before baby girl arrives. Her help was just invaluable, and made shooting a 10 hour wedding day at 34 weeks a breeze.

The big news out of this last, season-ending wedding was that the bride and groom arranged for a surprise performance by Edyta Sliwinska and her husband Alec Mazo (from Dancing with the Stars) in honor of the Bride’s father. It was just awesome!

Melissa and I found a great little accessory for baby girl’s nursery this weekend. It’s a super cute mod 1960’s mini vinyl chair for her room. All kid-sized and adorable – we just flipped when we saw it in the antique store! It’s fun little purchases like that which make getting ready for our little addition so much fun!

This last Sunday was also our annual Cookie Day. I’ve blogged about it before, but basically, the women in my Mother’s side of the family get together and bake a whole slew of cookies together. It’s always a blast. This year was no exception, and the addition of Ethan and Eli to the mix just added to the energy and fun. At the end of the day we had 11 different varieties of cookies to take home. Now I just have to keep myself from eating them all!

Hubby had the opportunity to run down to Indianapolis on Saturday for the Inaugural Big Ten Championship game. Wisconsin won, which made the trip all that much sweeter. He had a blast, and I’m glad he was able to go and experience such a awesome event with so much energy! It’s on to the Rose Bowl now.

The end of a wedding season is always a little bittersweet. I’m grateful for a break and to have have brought the year to a close, but I get accustomed to being caught up in bunches of wedding plans, taking on the anxiety of how the day will go, looking forward to the art I’ll create, I could go on and on. This morning I woke up and realized I don’t have a wedding to look forward to for two months. Crazy! Obviously, there are other things to focus on, but still the end of the season feels weird.

It’s a busy week ahead with hospital tours, baby showers, childbirth class, photographer’s holiday parties and client meetings. Hope you have a good one!
