Milwaukee Wedding Photographer | Jen & Brett | Engagement

She sat in her supervisor’s office, tapping her feet, waiting for him to return.  ”I’ll be in Steven’s Point this weekend, we should meet up” she had said 12 hours earlier on the phone to Brett.  It had taken two years for their paths to align, and she wasn’t going to let them get off course again.  She hadn’t really had any plans to be in Steven’s Point that weekend when she blurted it out, and so she had spent the morning arranging to make that statement true.  The last piece of her plans was getting the weekend off from work, and so here she sat.  The clock ticked, and she tapped her foot some more.  This was going to be a stretch, and she knew it.  Finally, after what seemed like eons, her supervisor walked in.  ”I’m sorry Jen, but I can’t give you off this weekend.” he said, hardly glancing up from his paperwork.  She took a deep breath and a smile spread across her face.  ”Then I’m sorry, but I need to quit.”  He looked up at her.  She smiled wider and got up and left.  Walking out of the store, she felt her spirit lift – she was doing it, she was getting this guy, and it was so worth it.

Jen and Brett have an insatiable appetite for travel, and so we had to take that theme and run with it for their shoot.  I send out an engagement questionnaire to my couples before their shoot and one of the questions is “Where have you been together?”.  On Brett’s survey, he said ‘San Francisco, Italy, Arizona, Chicago, and In Love!’.  I thought that answer was so brilliant, that we built their shoot around the idea that they were traveling to a place called In Love.

We had to incorporate Brett’s Harley in the shoot a little too, of course:

I love the new blog. It is so clean and polished. The colors make me want to touch it ever so sneaky like an oil painting.
