Marisa and Jon had a truly decadent destination wedding at the American Club in Kohler.  Few venues treat their couples with the class and panache that the American Club has.  It is truly one of my favorite Wisconsin venues for a ceremony and reception.  And, it is downright gorgeous to boot.

Marisa’s shoes deserve two shots in this post.  Marisa was a girl after my own heart when she emailed me to ask what designers she should consider for her wedding day shoes on her shoe shopping trip to New York.  Hello!  Awesome sauce. When she settled on this gorgeous pair of Kate Spades, I was over the moon!

Marisa & Jon got special permission for their adorable dog Tucker to be their ring-bearer.  His custom tux was so adorable:

We started the day off with a beautiful first look at the Inn on Woodlake.

Marisa & Jon had their ceremony in the courtyard of the American Club.  It was bathed in sunshine and so wonderfully intimate.

I just loved the way these two styled their wedding.  At first glance it is wholly classic – brocade patterns, black dresses, pearls with bows, white roses.  But then you look a little deeper and see the fun personality punctuating all of the formality – goofy 80’s style sunglasses, argyle socks, plenty of bling, Jone’s soda, flip flops (most of those items coming further down in the post).

One of the best things about Kohler is the remoteness that allows for such a beautiful starry sky like this at night:

Marisa & Jon, I don’t know that I can fully convey how much fun it was to be a part of your lives on this day.  You are truly a remarkable couple, with such a fantastic connection.  Your friends were a blast to hang-out with and work with.  I hope to be a part of your lives for the many years that are to come!
