“What I see here today is the American Dream, illustrated.  Two children of immigrants who have found each other, made lives for themselves, know the importance of family, of faith, of love.  Two sets of parents who had dreams for their children and sacrificed, set examples, worked hard, and dreamed some more so that one day, we could be here, together, celebrating.”  Those aren’t the exact words of Adriana’s future brother-in-law, but it’s the gist of his speech.  He was the last of five to speak that night.  Each toast was beautifully written, deeply heartfelt, and delivered with an abundance of tears and laughter.  But it was his speech that tied up the day so perfectly with a keen “outsider’s” observation of what was happening and the significance of the moments unfolding.  I can’t say it better myself.
