This is part two of a two-part post for Katie & Chris’s wedding at the Cuneo Mansion.  See Part 1 by clicking here.

With the rain looming again, we had a small pocket of relief with which to enjoy some cocktails and laughter on the lawn. The Cuneo Mansion glowed in the post-rain light, and the wedding marched on, high heels in wet grass, the unique sounds of the Gipsy Trio in the background, and umbrellas at the ready.

The rain started up again just as people were moving into the tent for dinner. Perfect timing!

The details for this wedding were outstanding.  Each table had something a little different going on as a centerpiece – some were groupings of vintage glass bottles, others were full, beautiful centerpieces, and still others were pots of lavender.  The smell was incredible – lilting lavender on top of fresh cheese.  Yes, cheese.  Katie and Chris imported several different kinds of cheese and Chris created hand-made cheese boards for each table.  they even had a bowl of fresh, squeaky cheese curds!

Katie’s dad gave a remarkable toast.  Funny, light and full of wonderful marital advice, all wrapped up in one speech.

The band, The Chicago Groove Collective, kept the dance floor packed all night long.  Seriously, I’ve never been stepped on, elbowed and bumped into so much – everyone was dancing, there wasn’t any room left.

This moment will be hard to top.  Katie’s ‘bridesman’ got up and sang an incredible rendition of Proud Mary.  He was such an incredible performer – the crowd was positively captivated.

This couple on the left was just one of those couples that showed their love at every gesture – here’s hoping one day when it is their turn – I get to be there.

I couldn’t think of a better image than this one to end with – it sums up so well the evening.  Katie laughing so hard it almost hurts while having a fantastic time dancing.  That is exactly the energy that was bouncing all over the tend that night.

Katie & Chris – it was such an immeasurable honor to share in your wedding day.  It will be hard to top your families and this location, as well as the love you displayed as some of my all-time favorites.  I know the life ahead for you is filled with so many amazing moments like these.  Enjoy!
