I thought we might combat the recent dip in temperatures with a beautiful beach wedding today.  Sound good?  Katie & Ryan were married back in warm and sunny September on the shores of Lake Michigan at the Blue Harbor Resort.  Their day was bright and colorful with a fun and slightly nautical take on navy and bright pink colors, and even more colorful friends and family.  You might recognize a few people if you are a long-time blog reader – there were several former clients at this wedding.

Katie & Ryan opted for a first look on the balcony between their two getting-ready suites.  It made for some fun moments with their wedding party looking on.

So, Katie’s last name was Mader, and Ryan’s is Frohmader – so they truly were Froh + Mader.  I just loved this cool coincidence.

Katie & Ryan’s pastor did a stupendous job with their ceremony.  Truly.  It was so personal and so well crafted – entertaining and meaningful.  Two moments I still remember – asking them to turn and look at all who were gathered there to support them – and asking the parents and wedding party to surround them for a group prayer.  Neither of these two moments were rehearsed – he sprung them on them the day of – and it is that kind of know-how that made them so emotional.

Katie & Ryan – I can’t quite put into words how fun your wedding was.  Your friends are phenomenal, but I’m sure you know that.  It was impressive to see them work so hard to make sure your experience of the day was all it could be.  You have such a rich future ahead of you – I can’t wait to see it all unfold.  Thank you for inviting me in to the beginning of it to capture your memories.
