A J.Crew Wedding | Inspiration

It all started when I saw this adorable and sweet swiss dot wedding dress in the J.Crew weddings collection.  It was just so easy, so relaxed, and yet a touch vintage and proper.  The cap sleeve is lovely, and the pockets make it an obvious choice.  Within seconds I was conjuring up a garden wedding with preppy but elegant style and a heavy dose of fun.

So I wondered, could you style your whole wedding party from the J.Crew collection?  Um, what a silly question.  Of course you can!

I’ve put together a sweet wedding with plums, mints and navy, stripes, dots and a few fun winks of fun.  Let the dreaming begin:

I feel like the higher neckline and dotted fabric would compete with a necklace (unless it was something very simple, delicate and sentimental), so I went with a sparkly earring and a stunner bouquet.  I loved the vintage flair the birdcage veil brought to the ensemble.  A grown-up and sparkly heel is great for walking down the aisle and pictures.  After the sun sets, a sweet cashmere cardigan and mint flats with a twist sweeten the look and make it more relaxed for partying.

Every groom should have a suit that fits him as well as the bride’s dress does her.  I loved this dark grey number, paired with a fun tie and socks, and a complimentary pocket square.  No boutonnière required – this guy is well accessorized with charming button cuff-links and classic raybans.

Too many ‘maids get stuck in unflattering dresses for their shape.  This cut and neckline looks good on almost any body type and the straps mean the girls {literal and metaphorical} will be comfortable and well contained all day.  I love a special little ring for a gift, and some fun nailpolish to set things off.  The scarf really ties together the whole color scheme for the cool night air, and a comfy but beautiful flat they can wear again and again for dancing the night away.

Putting the men in a slightly lighter version of the groom’s suit lets them be a little less formal and the playful navy gingham shirt is a fun accent to the subtly dotted bow-tie.  Sweet navy knot cufflinks contrast well with the sophisticated navy watch (a nice gift!).  I’ve never seen a groomsman who doesn’t appreciate a comfy shoe for after the front-and-center moments, so these striped shoes will work great, and pair up well with shorts or linen pants later.

I couldn’t resist the combination of this mint silk taffeta dress with the preppy navy stripe flats.  So sweet, and just grown up enough to make a sweet one feel special.  The lavender satchel is perfect for some reception amusements to be stashed in too.  A trio of little boys in purple gingham and navy vests is adorable.

How would you style a J.Crew wedding?  I can’t help but wonder what the rest of this affair would look like.  Time to hit up Pinterest I think!
