Miscellaneous Monday

Molly is extremely busy, so I’ve decided to help by writing Misc Monday for her.  So here is Misc Monday according to Hubby.  Let me know how I do!

(Molly’s note: Since I have to put this onto the blog and format it anyway, I’ve added my commentary to Hubby’s Monday Ramblings.  It was a big help having Hubby write this post, but Wordpress wizard he is not.  You’ll see my comments below his, in italics and ( ). )

Our friend Melissa was in town for a wedding this weekend.  On Friday night we went to the new Bartolotta Restaurant, Harbor House and it was awesome.  The food and service were as expected - excellent!  They remodeled the former restaurant that was there and created a whole new atmosphere.  I recommend it for that next big night out.

(Molly’s note: The pictures on the Harbor House’s website do not do the interior of this restaurant justice.  It is absolutely stunning!)

We also attended the Brewers game on Sunday with some of my family.  It was a great time as always.  It was the last home game of the season and most likely Prince Fielder and Trevor Hoffman’s last appearances as Brewers.  The crowd gave both standing ovations during the game as well as Ryan Braun.  It was good to see the crowd recognize these players as well as the players give a curtain call and a tip of the hat.

(Molly’s Note: I’m pretty bummed that two players we love and adore will likely be leaving.  I hate this aspect of baseball.  Just as I warm up to a player and get excited about them, we loose them.  Also, the Chorizo finally won the Sausage Race while I was in attendance!  He is my favorite.)

For anyone wondering how m three Softball is doing, we are 4-2 and tied for first place.  Hopefully we can get it going and win our third straight championship.

On Saturday night, I went out with some friends and met up with a whole bunch more at Bootleggers in Milwaukee.  It was an interesting night to say the least.  Pretty much everyone had a blast.  The highlight of the evening was meeting Mr. Belding.  Yes, that Mr. Belding from Saved by the Bell.  Apparently his gig is now going around and doing appearances.  I even got my picture taken with him:

(Molly’s note: Only my husband would text me a picture of him hanging out with Mr. Belding at two in the morning. The things I miss out on for weddings….)

Since we are sharing pictures, here is one of me wearing our godson Ethan in his Baby Bjorn.   You can really tell Ethan enjoys my company.  And yes, between myself, brother-in-law Christian, and our cousin Keith, all necessary “The Hangover” quotes and references were made!

A few weeks ago Molly and I ordered some new furniture.  I will admit that it is nice having grown-up bedroom furniture.  That along with my new leather recliner arrived several weeks ago.  The new couch arrives tomorrow.  We’ve been in our house for four years and finally have real furniture!

(Molly’s note: This development is long overdue.  The toilet paper holder that was serving as a nightstand had to go!)

Speaking of recliner, tonight is the first Packer game I get to watch from it.  I’m so excited about the game tonight and the rest of the season.  Aaron Rodgers and Clay Matthews are exciting to watch.  I know Molly hates it but between the Packers and Badgers, I could watch football and ESPN non-stop!  Prediction for tonight Packers 24-10 over the Bears.  Don’t forget to sign up for the official Packers Facebook page at www.facebook.com/packers.

(Molly’s note: I just wanted to clarify that I don’t hate football, I just think watching sports on TV is terribly boring.  I prefer to see them live. I also don’t like how most sports shows feel like the hosts are yelling at you.)

Congratulations to our family and friends, Craig, Rod, Greg, Chad, Nick and Lemsky for completing the UW-Whitewater Triathalon!

That’s about what I have for the right now.  Enjoy the game tonight and have a great week!

(Molly’s note: I just wanted to add one experience from my version of the weekend:

Saturday was Katie & Ryan’s fantastic wedding at the Blue Harbor Resort in Sheboygan.  Katie & Ryan were wedding party members last year in Emily & Jeff’s wedding. Emily and Jeff are friends of Amanda & Andy, another one of my couples, and Emily and Josh, an honorary former couple.  All in all, I believe I knew about 20 people in attendance going into this wedding.  I had such a blast catching up with these former clients, hanging out with their families again (thanks for the Hug on the dance floor Dueslers and Jasinowskis!) and chatting away.  It made it harder to do my job having so many wonderful distractions, but I would never complain.  Having clients I love and who love me back is one of the best parts of my job!)

Have a great week!

Light.

Just a few pictures that would get lost in a whole wedding blog post.  Liz and Tom have been some of my favorite clients for so many reasons, not the least of which was that they scheduled an extra 20 minute “sunset light” session into their wedding day.

More from this fabulous wedding day coming soon.  But for now, let’s just play in the light:

Pier Wisconsin Wedding | Kristin & Matt

I’m not sure if people get more gorgeous than Kristin & Matt, both inside and out. When they booked me almost two years ago to shoot their wedding (Kristin planned everything ahead of time so she could focus on her last year of medical school), I knew they had style.  What I didn’t know was that so did everyone around them – and that it would unfold into such a beautiful day – inside and out.

So, when I walk in and see a Monique Lhullier dress hanging up and Jimmy Choo shoes waiting for me, I admit, a small squeal might have been audible.

Kristin and Matt had a sweet and touching First Look just outside of the Pfister (where the girls got ready) Hotel.

Then it was off to Pier Wisconsin for their wedding ceremony and wedding reception.  The amphitheater at Pier Wisconsin provided welcome shade on the hot day for some pictures.

The beautiful, draped, clear-span tent on the Pier Wisconsin promenade lawn was a great setting for their wedding ceremony. You know I love an outdoor wedding, and this one did not disappoint.  Just enough shade to bounce the light around, just enough elegance to add some formality, and just enough breeze to remind you that you were outside, on the shores of Lake Michigan.

Kristin & Matt’s pastor gave a very personal sermon that led to much laughter and tears, and sometimes a combination of the two.

After the outdoor ceremony, we stole away for some dedicated Bride and Groom picture time around Pier Wisconsin and the lakefront.

Matt had a custom suit made for his wedding day (see the credits below).  This is one of the top five things I would do differently about my own wedding.  Why shouldn’t the Groom have his own special attire?  Why in the world do we rent it instead?

Bartolottas does an amazing job at every one of their wedding venues.  I’ve been fortunate enough to try them all. But, I have to say that Janelle and her staff outdid themselves in the Pilot Room at Pier Wisconsin for Kristin & Matt.  It was stunning, smoothly run, and yummy too!

It is kind of hard to beat the nearly 360 degree view from the Pilot Room and the surrounding deck.

Kristin and Matt wisely planned their wedding to coincide with Festa Italia, (For you non-Milwaukee peeps, we have a festival on our lakefront pretty much every weekend during the summer) and got a free fireworks show because of it.  The deck on the Pilot Room was likely the best view in the city of the fireworks show, and a great way to end the night.

Kristin & Matt – it was an honor and a privilege to be a part of your day, and to capture it.  Your family and friends are truly remarkable.  You are surrounded by such love and promise.  The future is super bright for the two of you, there is no doubt. Congrats!

I had a hard time editing down the images from this wedding day to just what was included in this post.  There is so much more to see!  Check out their album and slideshow below:
