Grain Exchange Wedding | Emily & Matt

Mar 17, 2019

Fate has a tough job.  She’s tasked with putting people together who all have their own little universes spinning, who are impulsive, distracted, and willful.  She’s the only one who has the map, and she somehow has to make all of us fall into place.  On the day Emily and Matt first met, I imagine she was feeling pretty satisfied.  She had gotten them to the same party, made sure there was a mutual friend.  She probably brushed her hands together, gave a satisfied grin, and punched the clock.  Job well done, right?  Until…fizzle.  Some of us miss the obvious, blinking sign.  So Fate got back to work. Weaving and looping, and pulling Emily and Matt’s paths back together on a collision course.  A few years later, Emily swiped right, and there was Matt.  She remembered him, and this time he stuck.  Fate opened up a bottle of champagne as she watched the two paths merge.
